Planets

It's great to see you have found the Random Planet Generator. If you came here looking for a tool that would help you with the planets in the solar system, you've come to the right spot. This generator was created specifically to perform this function. All you need to do to use this tool is to indicate the number of results you'd like to see and then click the button. Once done, you'll see the random results. If you're interested in a list of the planets in a random order, you can find that at the end of this article.

It's not obvious to all why a random planet picker would be of much use. There are actually a number of different ways a tool like this can be beneficial. You can see some of the ways this tool is often used in the following paragraphs.

Study

If you're a student and you're currently studying the planets in the solar system, this free tool can be a great way to study them. Since the generator produces random results, you never know which one of the planets will be shown which can help confirm that you truly have the knowledge. If you have a friend, one of you can generate a random planet and then quiz the other, then switch so you both get a chance to study.

New Information

If you're interested in learning new information about the planets, you can also do that with this tool. Along with the plant name, other information about each planet also appears with the results. This allows you to learn a bit more about each of the planets in our solar system. You didn't know that Jupiter has 63 satellites revolving around it? Use this tool and you would.

Student Assignments

For teachers who are teaching their students about the different planets, this tool is an easy and convenient way to randomly assign each student a planet to study. Simply generate a single result for each name as you go down the class list and you'll have a random planet for each student to write about or do a report about.

Is Pluto a Planet?

For our tool, we have included Pluto as a planet although most scientists consider it a "dwarf planet" at this point. If you use the tool, Pluto will randomly appear in the results.
